Internship Opportunities

Alameda Family Services offer a variety of unique internship opportunities, each with their own application process. While most internships begin accepting applications in February for the following fiscal year, some are open year round.

School-Based Services Division Internships: Through an established partnership with Alameda Unified School District, AFS oversees a Master’s Level internship program where trainees provide no-cost mental health support to students at one of Alameda’s 15 public school sites.

Clinic and Community-Based Behavioral Health Care Internships: Our outpatient clinic offers internship opportunities for doctoral interns through a partnership with the Wright Institute as well as practicum opportunities for students from different schools and programs. Post-doctoral fellowships are also sometimes offered from year to year.

Crisis Services Internships: Our Crisis Services Division has internship opportunities for students in full-time MSW programs providing clinical case management to individuals and families who had a mobile crisis response in the City of Alameda.
